Interesting Jalapenos in the News When Life Gives You Jalapeos, Pickle Them Here's a post about pickling from the Atlantic food blog. We would agree! Looking for more pickling information? The beer is put in a pocket of pretzel-like dough and then fried in oil at 375 degrees Celsius for about 20 seconds, Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday. This is from the same guy that invented chocolate-covered strawberry waffle balls and jalapeño corndog shrimps. Sounds interesting to us! New Recipes! We're always cooking new jalapeno pepper-themed recipes! Super Fresh Garden Jalapeno Pizza Looking for a quick pizza recipe with fresh garden vegetables? This one is easy. We didn’t want to add in too many other ingredients in order to focus on the flavor of the garden vegetables. You really don’t need to, but if you’re itching to add in more spice, try some habanero powder or consider some Cajun seasonings. Otherwise, this one is almost purely from the garden.
The traditional roux is a thickener used for soups and sauces, made with equal parts flour and butter. We've given our spin to this classic recipe by introducing jalapeno peppers and other vegetables. Use it to thicken and spice up your stews, soups and sauces, but it's great on its own served over fish or chicken.
Ice water can be a little boring, albeit refreshing. Typically, to spruce it up and give it a little flavor, most people add lemon slices or maybe even lime slices, but if you're a heat lover like we are, you might try this tasty alternative - a combination of jalapeno pepper rings and refreshing cucumber slices We added slices from an entire cucumber and the flavor was quite pronounced. You can easily reduce the amount of cucumber to achieve a balance you prefer. Yes, refreshing.
