Roasted Pepper-Chicken-Pale Ale Stew

This powerful vegetable stew has a good sized spicy kick from the roasted jalapeno peppers, which along with the roasted red bell, pervades the broth and infused the other vegetables with their telltale flavors. The pale ale brings a subtle flavor of its own. The alcohol will cook off, but if you prefer to cook without the ale, simply substitute an equal amount of chicken stock.

"Never fails another great cook book. The recipies are simple and great detail is given on each one. if you are a Chilihead you will LOVE the book"

"All of Michael's jalapeno recipe books are wonderful. This one has lots of great ideas for stuffed jalapenos and poppers. We eat a lot of jalapenos at my house and my husband particularly loves stuffed jalapenos. I am always looking for new ways to cook them. This book is filled with lots of ideas. I usually cook mine on the grill but am planning to try some of his baked poppers and "armadillo eggs". There are also recipes for stuffing other types of peppers, including bell peppers and many other types of peppers. I have been looking for more good recipes for Poblano peppers and there are some that look tasty in this book."

Spicy Turkey Burger Recipes – Up Your Satisfaction Quotient

Growing up I was a huge burger fan. Didn't matter where I got my burger, as long as I got my fix. Burgers were like pizza, really, in that a good burger is "great", and a bad burger and "still pretty good." Sure, some were better than others, but as a kid, the one thing I shied away from was a turkey burger. At the time, I felt turkey just couldn't satisfy that ultimate crave that a beef burger can quash.

Chili Pepper Sauce from New Zealand

Hot sauce makers come from all over the world, and we had a chance to try some hot sauces from New Zealand hot sauce maker "Fire Dragon Chillies". You can see them in the photo above. The three sauces owner Clint Meyer sent along were all quite tasty and hot. The mildest he sent along, "Xtra Hot Chilli Sauce", was labeled as an 8/10 scale, and that still had quite the bite.

What do Jalapenos and Florida Have in Common?

We spent an entire month in the Floriday Keys, exploring, learning, but most of all...cooking! Yes, we loved the Keys so much that we dedicated a new site to cooking with all the local ingredients. It will certainly take many more trips to learn, to gather information, and of course to cook, but we have plenty of spicy recipes online there for you to check out. If you enjoy fresh seafood with a spicy kick, learn more about our experiences in the Florida Keys.
