Chickpeas with Roasted Jalapenos and Red Pepper Flakes
I incorporated the pungent Turkish pepper flakes, Maras Biber, into this chickpea side dish recipe. It is highly flavorful and the bright red color will make any dish pop.
Ingredients
- 1 can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
- 3 roasted jalapeno peppers, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Maras Biber flakes
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil + a splash as needed
- 2 tablespoon vinegar
- Juice from 1 lime
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Directions
- Heat a large pan to medium heat.
- Add a splash of oil, then add chickpeas, jalapeno peppers and garlic. Cook about 2 minutes
- Set into a mixing bowl and allow to cool.
- Add olive oil, vinegar and lime juice. Toss well.
- Season with salt and pepper, and serve.
