Jalapeno Pepper Garden Pizza Bread
So here's the story on this recipe. After a long day of work we decided last minute to order from one of our favorite pizza places, Lou Malnaties, but little did we know that Tuesday was the recent promotion -- 1/2 price pizza night! We dialed the delivery number for over a 1/2 an hour before finally giving up and making our own homemade pizza. The recipe below is the result! Luckily we had so many fresh ingredients from our garden to make this one so easy to make.
Ingredients
- 4 jalapeno peppers, sliced
- 3 hard rolls (you'll notice we used a couple of kaiser rolls and a french roll), separated
- 4-6 Roma tomatoes, sliced (enough to cover the buns)
- 8-10 fresh basil leaves, washed and chopped
- 6 ounces feta cheese
- 6 ounces mozarella cheese, shredded
Cooking Directions
- Top your separated buns with tomato slices. The buns will serve as your easy crust.
- Top each with chopped basil.
- Top each with jalapeno pepper slices.
- Top each with 1 ounce of feta cheese and 1 ounce of mozarella cheese.
- Bake on a cookie sheet about 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and beginning to brown.
For this recipe, we used our pizza oven, but we had to smoosh down the cheese so it wouldn't stick to the top of the oven.
