French Sour Dough Bread Pizza with Jalapeno Peppers
I normally make pizzas in my pizza oven with pizza dough (sometimes pre-bought, but I also make my own dough), but the other night I needed something quick and REALLY wanted pizza, so I tried French sour dough. The bread is sturdy and the pieces are long, and I figured it would make a great base. I was right! Don't forget the jalapenos! Those are the best part.
Ingredients
- 2 jalapeno peppers, sliced into rings
- 3 slices of French sour dough bread
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 18 pepperoni slices
- 1 tablespoon ground basil (or oregano)
- 1 cup feta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella
Cooking Directions
- Set French sour dough bread on a pizza tray.
- Distribute tomato sauce over each and sprinkle ground basil.
- Add tomato slices, jalapeno peppers and pepperoni slices.
- Add cheeses.
- Cook 15 minutes in your pizza oven, or bake 20 minutes at 425 degrees in a preheated oven.
- Serve!
Don't these look delicious even BEFORE you cook them up? Dang! Serve with beer.
